<p><a href="/en/afganistan/kabul" class="glossify-link">KABUL</a> has pledged to reconstruct buildings and boundary walls for 56 schools in central Maidan Wardak province, an official said on Thursday.</p>

<p>Additionally, the ministry would establish two agricultural high schools for training skilled technicians and workers in Nirkh and Syedabad districts, said Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman.</p>
<p>The agricultural high school in the provincial capital, Maidan Shahr, has recently been upgraded to an institute.</p>
<p>Khogyani said the education ministry had approved hostels for 10 schools and the construction of boundary walls for another 46 schools.</p>
<p>Estimated to cost $400,000 (21,336,000afs), the structures are being built this academic year, according to the gubernatorial spokesman, who said new 20 primary schools have also been approved for Maidan Wardak.</p>
<p>Governor Abdul Majeed Khogyani said the establishment of a vocational institute and other schools had stopped Wardak residents from traveling to other provinces for the same purpose.</p>
<p>He thanked the education ministry and other organizations in making education process a success in his province, hoping new projects would follow soon.</p>
<p>Elsewhere, a newly-established agricultural high school has been opened in Balkh district of northern Balkh province, the provincial education director said.</p>
<p>Qais Mehrain said currently 58 students, including 15 girls, have been enrolled to the school.</p>
