KABUL (PAN): One person was slightly injured when a suspected bomb placed in a trash can went off in front of a hospital in the heavily fortified central capital Kabul, police and a medic said on Wednesday.
The blast occurred around 8:30am in Seh Rahi Alauddin locality, said deputy police chief Brig. Gen. Mohammad Daud Amin.
The Ministry of Interior issued a statement saying it was sound bomb that went up in a trash bin in front of the Istiqlal Hospital in the 7th police district.
“The explosion was aimed at creating panic among people by the enemies of peace and stability in Afghanistan,” the ministry statement said. Police are investigating the incident, it added.
However, Istiqlal Hospital chief Dr. Ali Eshan said one person was slightly hurt in the explosion.
