PUL-I-ALAM (PAN projects in central Logar province.
Arsala Jamal, the third Logar governor in a year, hoped residents would cooperate with his administration in stepping up the reconciliation campaign.
He expressed the hope at a ceremony in Pul-i-Alam, where he was introduced to provincial officials, tribal elders and local notables.
Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) deputy head Abdul Latif Baig said the gubernatorial change was aimed at administrative reforms.
But a Wolesi Jirga member from the province, Eng. Sahib Khan Kharotai, said naming three provincial governors in a year was not in the government’s interest. The frequent changes hampered coordination between the governor and other officials, he argued.
The parliamentarian urged the government to pay greater attention to the fast-track development of Logar, alleging the strategic had been ignored over the past decade.
