JALALABAD (PAN): Protests against Governor Gul Agha Sherzai continued for the third consecutive day on Monday in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province.
Thousands of people demonstrated in different parts of the city, chanting slogans against Sherzai and calling for his immediate removal.
An organiser of the protest and a member of provincial council, Zabihullah Zamaray, told Pajhwok Afghan News they would no longer tolerate a “corrupt” governor continuing in his office.
“Sherzai must offer himself for accountability,” he stressed, warning the protest would continue as long as the governor was not held accountable.
