BRUSSELS (PAN): Focused on how to end the war in Afghanistan, an important meeting involving foreign ministers of NATO and ISAF nations began in Brussels on Tuesday.
The alliance and its international partners will deliberate on how to support Afghan forces after 2014, when NATO’s combat role is scheduled to end.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Zalmai Rassoul and representatives from the United Nations and the European Union are also in attendance.
Ahead of the meeting, the NATO secretary-general said: “Today, I expect we will agree to launch Phase Two of our Helicopter Maintenance Trust Fund, which will expand the training of Afghan maintenance crews. This would be a significant step.
