Taliban kill district attorney along with wife

MAIMANA (PAN attack in northwestern Faryab province on Tuesday, an official said.

The vehicle carrying Arsalan and his spouse along with their bodyguards came under fire from insurgents in the Aq Masjid area, the district chief, Abdul Qadri, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the attorney was heading to the district centre for duty.

The incident took place near the house of Noor Mohammad, a development council head in the Jamshidi area. He said he heard gunshots while at home and when he reached the site, he saw the dead bodies Arsalan, his wife and three guards at the site.

Taliban spokesman Qari Yousaf Ahmadi claimed Arsalan was killed along with five guards in the attack. He acknowledged that one fighter was also killed in the incident.
