KUNDUZ CITY (PAN): A police officer and his driver were killed and two civilians wounded in an explosion in northern Kunduz province on Tuesday, an official said.
The explosives placed in a police vehicle went off the Khanabad district, killing Nasir Ahmad, the police officer, along with his driver and wounding two civilians, the district chief said.
Hayatullah Amiri told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban had thrice tried in the past to assassinate the police official but he escaped unhurt.
In another blast, two guards of Sheikh Sadruddin, the Dasht-i-Archi district chief, were wounded. But Sheikh was survived the explosion. No one has so far claimed responsibility for the attacks.
