CHAGHCHARAN (PAN province, an official said on Thursday.
The Taliban, their Pakistani associates and pro-government militiamen were killed in different clashes over the past few days, the provincial police chief, Col. Dilawar Shah Dilawar, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said three villages of the Baghran district came under attack from the Taliban, who sneaked from neighbouring Helmand province. A former local police commander, currently a pro-government militiaman, retreated to the Sangan area of the district.
Dilawar added they would soon send a 100-member police contingent to Pasaband and Baghran districts to clear the area of the Taliban.
