PUL-I-KHUMRI (PAN): Three Afghan Local Police (ALP) members and one civilian were killed and three others wounded in two separate roadside bombings in northern Baghlan province, an official said on Monday.
A roadside bomb hit an ALP pick-up, killing two policemen in the Dand Ghori area of Pul-i-Khumri, the capital of Baghlan, on Sunday evening, police chief Gen. Asadullah Sherzad told Pajhwok Afghan News.
After the first incident, a second explosion occurred in the same area, killing another ALP member and a civilian, the police chief said.
Baz Mohammad, a resident of the area, said the civilian was a farmer who was passing the area at the time of the blast.
“People are cooperating with security forces, but militants plant bombs that kill civilians and ALP members. Restive areas need to be patrolled at night,” the resident believed.
