KHOST CITY (PAN): At least one man was killed and a dozen others, including six civilians, were wounded in a bomb attack in Khost City on Saturday morning, an official said.
The remotely-controlled bomb exploded at a vegetable market on the outskirts of the provincial capital at 9.30am, the deputy police chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Col. Yaqub Khan said the injured, three of them border police personnel, had been evacuated to a local hospital. However, he would not comment on their condition.
Witness Samiullah suggested it was a suicide attack, targeting a border police convoy near a security checkpoint in the area. The scene was cordoned off by police, he added.
A private clinic doctor, Malik Mir, said one dead boy and 12 injured individuals had been brought to the health facility. The injured were in stable condition, he explained.
