JALALABAD (PAN): Seven people of family were killed in a roadside bombing in eastern Laghman province on Monday morning, an official said.
The car they were travelling in struck the roadside bomb in Hakimabad Khwar area at about 7am, the governor’s spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Sarhadi Zwak said the dead included four women, two children and a man, all belonging to the same family. He blamed the militants for planting the bomb.
“The hapless individuals came under attack while returning from firewood collection,” the spokesman said.
Governor Fazlullah Mujaddedi, meanwhile, voiced his deep shock over the civilian deaths. He denounced the explosion as a cowardly act by the militants.
