SHIBERGHAN (PAN) — the Afghan spy service — have been killed in separate incidents in northern Kunduz and Jawzjan provinces
Police officer Col. Abdul Manan Raufi told Pajhwok Afghan News that a border police official and an NDS operative were killed during an overnight operation in the Qarqin district of Jawzjan.
Another two policemen were injured during the operation in Kabak area, where the Taliban were holding a meeting. Several fighters also suffered casualties, Col. Raufi believed, but he had no specific numbers.
Elsewhere in the province, he said, a Local Police (ALP) member was killed and another wounded during a clash in Darzab district.
But Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the fighters had shot dead ALP commander Khal Mohammed along with a bodyguard in Darzab.
Also in the north, an ALP member died late on Thursday when his motorbike struck a roadside bomb on the outskirts of Kunduz City, police spokesman Syed Sarwar Hussaini said.
