6 including soldiers dead in western zone

Three ANA troops were killed on Friday morning when the vehicle they were travelling in hit a roadside bomb in the Bala Murghab district of Badghis province.

Sharafuddin Majeedi, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the explosion in Dara Boom area left another three soldiers wounded. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the bomb attack.

In the Gulran district of Herat province, a border police officer was killed and another injured in a similar assault. One security source said the blast occurred in Ilyas Karez area.

Also in Herat, a tribal elder was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Injil district.
