HERAT CITY/PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): New buildings for five schools are being constructed in western Herat and central Logar provinces, officials said on Thursday.
The structures in Herat are under construction in Farsi, Kuhansan and Pashtun Department, Mohammad Moeen Sabor, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The construction process would take about six months to complete, he said, adding the €400,000 project, a joint venture of Italy, Japan and the Afghan Ministry of Education, would facilitate 5,000 students.
Elsewhere, construction work was launched Thursday on two school buildings in Pul-i-Alam, Logar’s capital, the Governor’s Office said in a statement.
Each building would have 10 classrooms, administrative offices and other facilities, it said. The Education Ministry has allocated $200,000 for the project that is expected to be complete over the next five months.
