BAMYAN CITY (PAN Development Fund (ADF), an initiative of the Agriculture Ministry, on Thursday opened its office in central Bamyan province, an official said.
The office is aimed at providing farmers with small loans in order to enable them to increase their agriculture products, said Mohammad Tahir Attai, the provincial agriculture director.
More than 1,400 farmers would be released loans against seven percent interest rate through agriculture cooperatives, he told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Attai hoped farmers would be able to properly use the credits to increase their agriculture production.
He added the ADF office would give each farmer $1,000 to 2,000 (50,000/100,000 afs) as loan for a period of eight months.
An agricultural cooperative society chief, Haji Safdar, said receiving loans would enable poor farmers buy agriculture inputs.
