PUL-I-KHUMRI (PAN): Nine policemen and four insurgents were killed during a clash in the Baghlan-i-Markazi district of northern Baghlan province, an official said on Wednesday.
Provincial police chief said Lt. Gen. Asadullah Sherzad said the clash broke out after the Taliban attacked a police post in Zamankhel area.
A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, claimed 10 policemen were killed and a dozen others wounded during the attack. Two armor vehicles and as many police vehicles were destroyed, he added.
