Dashing hopes for peace talks with the Karzai administration, the Taliban said on Tuesday their negotiators had stopped going to their office in the Gulf state after the removal of their flag and plaque from the building.
There were challenges to the Afghan-led reconciliation campaign, but Pakistan continued to advocate for patience and perseverance to settle the issue, a spokesman for the Foreign Office in Islamabad said.
Addressing his regular weekly media briefing, Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry said all stakeholders be engaged for a positive outcome of the reconciliation process.
About allegations from Afghan authorities against Pakistan, he said Islamabad desired amicable relations with the neighbouring country. “We want to see a united, peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan and our sincerity should be reciprocated.”
