KABUL insurgents in central Logar province, an official said on Wednesday.
The air raid on Tuesday night targeted a group of militants who had gathered to attack police posts in the Alozai area, the governor’s spokesman said.
Din Mohammad Darwish told Pajhwok Afghan News the air assault was based on an intelligence report, adding a Taliban commander, Sabawoon, was among the dead.
A resident of the area, Abdul Rahman, said the airstrike involved jets, drones and helicopters and there were no ground forces. He said the dead bodies of Taliban were then taken a school in the Babos area of Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
