LASHKARGAH (PAN): Two policemen were killed and three others wounded during a roadside bombing in the Garmser district of southern Helmand province on Wednesday afternoon.
The casualties occurred when a police vehicle struck the roadside bomb in Darweshan area, the governor’s spokesman, Omar Zwak, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Ayub Omar Omari, the district chief, confirmed the explosion and said the victims were police officials. He had no further information about the incident.
A security official said on condition of anonymity the Darweshan police post commander, Niamat Aka, and his deputy Mateen were killed in the blast.
