The explosives tied to a bicycle went off in a busy square of Gardez when a police vehicle was passing through the area, a security official told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Requesting anonymity, the official said most of the injured were civilians. Gardez Civil Hospital Director Dr. Haya Gul Paktin confirmed receiving a dozen people from the blast site.
Two of the wounded individuals are said to be in critical condition. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
