Tribal elders gunned down in Uruzgan

TIRINKOT (PAN): Suspected rebels shot dead two tribal elders in Khas Uruzgan district of central Uruzgan province, local authorities said on Saturday.

Malik Abdul Hai and Haji Mohammad Sharif were gunned down in Asheri village late on Friday, when they threshing their wheat crops on their farms.

A statement from the governor’s office said the elders neither had personal enmity with anyone nor links with the government.
