GHZANI CITY (PAN): The urban prosecutor for southern Zabul province was killed by unidentified gunmen in the Maqur district of southern Ghazni province, officials said on Tuesday.
A statement from the governor’s office said Ismail, who had been abducted by insurgents 15 days ago, was killed late on Monday.
Zabul Governor, Ashraf Nasiri said the prosecutor was an honest man, who served the people selflessly. Afghanistan’s enemies could not achieve their nefarious designs by killing patriotic Afghans, he added.
The Ghazni governor’s spokesman, Fazal Rahman Sabawoon, confirmed the incident and said the Taliban-Kandahar highway.
Nine of the hostages have been killed so far and the rest remain in Taliban’s captivity, according to Sabawoon.
