NATO soldier dies in insurgent attack in east

KABUL, the alliance said on Friday.

Without revealing the exact location and nationality of the fallen soldier, the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in a brief statement said he was killed during an attack by armed insurgents in the east.

However, mostly American soldiers are stationed in eastern provinces.

The latest fatality took the number of foreign troops killed this year in Afghanistan to 122, including 96 Americans.
