ISLAMABAD (PAN border, local officials said on Friday.

The drone fired at least two missiles into a compound in Dargah Mandwi area in the Ghulam Khan sub-district of North Waziristan tribal region around midnight, security officials based in the area said.

Without giving details, they said six suspected militants had been killed in the strike that drew strong condemnation from the Foreign Office in Islamabad.

Local journalist Yousaf Haroon also confirmed the death of six people in the attack that occurred around 1am. Another three people were injured in the strike.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the strike on Friday and the Foreign Office issued a statement saying drone strikes were a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The FO said Pakistan had repeatedly emphasised the importance of bringing these strikes to an immediate end.

“The government has consistently maintained that drone strikes are counter-productive, entail loss of innocent civilian lives and have human rights and humanitarian implications”, the statement said.
