1 worker killed, 4 injured in Uruzgan blast

TIRINKOT (PAN): One construction company worker was killed and four others were wounded in a roadside bombing in the central province of Uruzgan on Tuesday, officials said.

The incident occurred at 4pm when the men were working on the reconstruction of a culvert on the Choora-Tirinkot road, the police spokesman, Farid Ayel, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Director of Public Works Mohammad Sabir Ahmadzai confirmed the incident, saying the men were rebuilding culverts at the site.

One dead body and six wounded people had been transferred to the hospital from the scene, said a doctor at the Uruzgan Civil Hospital, Izzatullah. One of the injured is in critical condition.
