HERAT CITY (PAN): As part of Peace Week celebrations, dozens of paintings were put on display in western Herat province on Tuesday to spread the message of reconciliation, organisers said.
The three-day exhibition has been organised by the provincial High Peace Committee. The committee chief, Maulvi Ghulam Sarwar, told Pajhwok Afghan News they had showcased 40 art pieces, motivating viewers to working for stability in the country.
Hamayun Nazari, who took part in the exhibition, said each painting carried a message of peace. “Each piece tells us how war and weapons are destroying our community.”
Fareshta, a university student who has painted a white pigeon, said the bird was regarded as a symbol of peace. “I love pigeons since my childhood. I wish my message spread across the nation.”
