KABUL (PAN): Key opposition leader Dr. Abdullah Abdullah on Tuesday filed nomination papers for next year’s presidential elections with the Independent Election Commission (IEC) main office in Kabul.
Abdullah, the National Coalition of Afghanistan, is expected to announce his strategy at a media briefing after meeting the formalities involved in the nomination process at the IEC.
Political heavyweights Yunus Qanuni, Salahuddin Rabbani, Atta Mohammad Noor, Abdul Haq Ulumi, Senate Deputy Chairman Mohammad Alam Ezedyar and others accompanied the former foreign minister to the IEC office.
