Cleric among 5 dead in Kandahar attacks

KANDAHAR CITY (PAN’s birthplace, officials said on Monday.

Mullah Council, was shot dead by unknown assailants riding a motorcycle on the outskirts of Kandahar City, the provincial capital, on Monday morning.

The governor’s spokesman, Javed Faisal, said Mohammad came under attack in Rangrizan area.

In Takhta Pul district, an border police commander, Sadiqullah, was killed along with three subordinates as a result of a roadside bombing, the district chief said.

In a similar incident in Khanin area of Kandahar City, two intelligence officials were killed late on Sunday.
