KABUL): At least four Afghan Local Police (ALP) members were killed after a group of insurgents stormed their post in northwestern Badghis province on Thursday, an official said.
The incident took place in Mullakafa area of Bala Murghab district, the governor’s spokesman, Mirwais Mirzakwal, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
A resident of the area, Shah Agha, said the early morning clash continued for an hour.
Later an ambulance arrived at the scene transfer dead and wounded ALP members, he said, but did not provide any figures.
A Taliban spokesman Qari Yousuf Ahmadi claimed three ALP members had been killed and as many wounded in the attack.
