SHARAN (PAN): The police chief for southeastern Paktika province on Tuesday said he would appear before the attorney general (AG) to answer the allegations leveled against him as soon as he returned from medical treatment in India.
Earlier, some media reports claimed military equipment handed over to Afghan security forces by foreign troops in Paktika had been sent willfully to Kabul by Brig. Gen. Dawlat Khan Zadran. Quoting interior ministry source, the reports said the issue had been shared with AGO.
In a telephonic conversation, Zadran told Pajhwok Afghan News he was currently in India in connection with medical treatment after getting formal permission from the deputy interior minister.
International Security Assistance Force equipments and other resources were still lying at the same place, he said, denying the allegation he sold the tools.
Mukhlis Afghan, the governor spokesman said Zadran was in India for medical treatment and would return soon to resume his duty. Foreign troops handed their Sharan base and equipment to Afghan forces a month ago.
