Karzai links Obama letter to his insistence

KABUL): President Hamid Karzai on Thursday said it was on his insistence that his US counterpart Barack Obama had written him the latest letter regarding the Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) between the two nations.

Referring to Karzai’s concerns about civilian security, Obama wrote the US had redoubled its efforts not to harm non-combatants during operations. He also reiterated the US commitment to Afghanistan’s independence, territorial integrity and national unity.
