ASADABAD (PAN): Police on Sunday claimed arresting a person, who allegedly abetted and incited youngsters and mentored them for carrying out suicide attacks, in eastern Kunar province.
Kunar police chief, Col. Abdul Habib Syedkheli, said the border police detained the mentor in the Sarkano district, when he was taking a boy to Pakistan for “religious studies” without the knowledge of his parents.
The arrested man had confessed to taking the boy to Pakistan to become a suicide bomber, said the police chief, who informed the boy had been handed over to his family while his mentor was being grilled by the police.
Murad Ali Khan, father of the boy, thanked the police, who rescued his son from being taken to Pakistan without his knowledge.
