KABUL): Fifteen militants have been killed during a clash between two rival insurgent groups in southeastern Paktika province, the Afghan military said on Thursday.
The Afghan National Army (ANA)’s 203rd Thunder Military Corps based in the province said the infighting among two Taliban factions took place in Lwara area of Giyan district.
A number of Pakistani and Afghan Taliban had gathered to discuss their differences when the armed clash occurred, leaving 15 militants dead and their three vehicles damaged.
In a separate incident, the 203rd military corps said four militants were killed and six others injured in a security forces operation in Maqur district of southern Ghazni province.
