JALALABAD (PAN): A roadside bombing killed a senior police officer and wounded his two subordinates and a civilian in the Chaparhar district of eastern Nangarhar province on Tuesday, an official said.
The Chaparhar deputy police chief, Naeem Khan, was on a patrol in the Sari Kala area when a roadside bomb tore through his vehicle at 11:00am, said Ahmadzai Abdulzai, the provincial government spokesman.
He said it was a powerful blast that killed Khan on the spot and injured two policemen travelling with him and a civilian. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital with multiple injuries.
Abdul Khaliq, an eyewitness, confirmed the blast and the casualties in the explosion.
A doctor, wishing not to be named, said they had been delivered a dead body and three injured people from the scene.
