Bomb disposal experts killed in Peshawar blast

ISLAMABAD (PAN‘s northwestern city of Peshawar on Monday morning, an official said.

The bomb disposal unit (BDU) personnel were on their way to the Sheikh Mohammadi village on the outskirts of the city to defuse another bomb there, a local police official told reporters at the scene.

He said the dead included Sub-Inspector Abdul Haq, in charge of the BDU, constable Imtiaz and driver Kashif. Another BDU official Aminul Haq and a pedestrian were injured in the explosion.

The wounded people were evacuated to Lady Reading Hospital. Doctors said Aminul Haq’s condition was critical. The blast took place near a BDS vehicle in Budh Bher area.
