1 prisoner stabbed to death, 2 wounded

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): One inmate was killed and two others were wounded when central jail prisoners clashed in western Herat province on Sunday, an official said.

Dr. Syed Naeem Alami, the provincial hospital director, told reporters in Herat City they had received a dead body from the central jail. He said one prisoner stabbed another following a verbal clash.

A police official, meanwhile, confided to Pajhwok Afghan News the prisoner — Amanullah — died on his way to hospital. Another two inmates were injured, he said.
