JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A stray mortar shell hit a house in the Khogyani district of eastern Nangarhar province on Monday, injuring six members of a family, an official said.
A doctor at the district civil hospital told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident that occurred around 11:30am left three women and as many children injured. Two of the wounded were in critical condition, he added.
Gul Nabi, a resident of the area, confirmed the casualties following the mortar blast.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
