KABUL (Pajhwok): Three civilians, including a woman have been killed as a result of blast in the Maiwand district of southern Kandahar province, officials said Tuesday.
Javed Faisal, governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident occurred before noon in Kobaz area on the outskirts of the district.
Police cordoned off the area and launched investigations to know what caused the blast, he said, adding militants were behind the killing of civilians.
But Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
The restive province witnessed surge in attacks and bombing blasts during the last few days.
The other day, a group of suicide bombers stormed the base of International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Zeri district which left a foreign soldier and nine attackers dead.
