KABUL (Pajhwok): Foreign Minister Zarar Ahmad Usmani is likely to leave for Azerbaijan next month while President Hamid Karzai is also scheduled to Baku to meet his counterpart in April, an official told an Azeri Press Agency (APA) on Thursday.
Dashgin Shikarov, the Azerbaijan ambassador for Afghanistan, said the date of the Afghan foreign minister’s visit to Baku had been fixed via diplomatic channels:
“An agreement for visa-free travel between the two countries for persons having diplomatic passports, including other pacts will be signed during the visit,” he hoped.
He said bilateral relations between his country and Afghanistan would be discussed in depth to further bolster ties.
President Hamid Karzai would likely travel to Azerbaijan in April this year to discuss a host of issues with his Azeri counterpart for promoting bilateral cooperation in various areas.
