ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Fires erupted in two forests as a result of missile attacks by Pakistani troops into eastern Kunar province, local officials claimed on Wednesday.
Provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Syedkhel, said 24 missiles had been fired over the past 24 hours into Zorh Brawal, Khara and other areas of Dangam district.
Speaking to Pajhwok Afghan News, he said the missile strikes sparked fires in two jungles, fearing such attacks would create problems during elections.
