MAIMANA/ SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Four civilians were killed and two others injured in a road accident in northwestern Faryab while a soldier of Afghan National Army (ANA) was killed in the northwestern Jawzjan province, official said Sunday.
Col. Bakhtyar, provincial traffic police chief, said the accident occurred in Quram Qul area where a corolla car collided head-on with a truck.
Three persons were killed on the spot while another succumbed to injuries on his way to hospital.
Separately, the body of an ANA soldier had been recovered from Gangal Arigh district of Jawzjan.
Br. Gen. Faqeer Mohammad Jawzjani, provincial police chief, said the slain ANA soldier was working in logistic department of the ministry of defense in Kabul and he was on leave.
He said police had started investigations and collected evidence from the site where he was killed.
Dr. Njeebullah, director of civil hospital, said the slain soldier was shot on his head.
Militants did not comment on the incident.
