JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A district administrative head and his bodyguard were killed when a bomb hidden in their car was detonated in the capital of eastern Nangarhar province on Saturday, officials said.
The Nazyan district chief, Noor Agha Kamran, was killed along with one bodyguard when the magnetic bomb attached to their car exploded near the University Hospital on the main road in Jalalabad, eyewitnesses told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The targeted car was decorated with campaign posters of an election candidate, they said.
Meanwhile, the governor’s office said five bystanders were also wounded in the blast that hit Kamran’s vehicle.
