CHAGHCHARAN (Pajhwok): Floods have killed seven people, washing away dozens of homes and more than 100 animals in western Ghor province, officials said on Thursday.
Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA) official Hamidullah Dadfar said heavy rains caused floods in Lal-o-Sarjangal, Shahrak and Teura-o-Tolak districts.
Seven people, including five children, were killed and eight others wounded as a result of the flooding, he told Pajhwok Afghan News. At least 83 houses were destroyed and 140 domestic animals washed away.
Governor Sayed Anwar Rahmati said roads had been closed due to flooding and they were trying to reopen them to deliver aid to the victims. Food, blankets and other items were ready for transportation, he added.
