KABUL (Pajhwok): A ceremony marking the Nawroz festival got under way at the Presidential Palace in Kabul with the Afghan national dance called Atan on Thursday morning.

The UN chief and leaders of Iran, Iraq, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, India, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Armenia have been invited to the event.

On Wednesday, Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmonov arrived in Kabul. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said presidents of Tajikistan, Iran, Pakistan and Azerbaijan would arrive in Kabul today.
