KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Tuesday warned presidential hopefuls of action if they used the government machinery or tried to manipulate results.
Asking candidates not to adopt illegal ways of reaching the presidency, the IECC chief urged them to ask the masses for votes and avoid resorting to fraud.
Abdul Sattar Sadat told reporters the watchdog remained committed to its decisions and the massage equally applied to candidates.
With the exception of Daud Sultanzoy, Nadir Naeem and Hidayat Amin Arsala, the rest of candidates had allegedly been involved in using the government machinery, he said.
Speaking on the eve of expiry of the two-month election campaign period, Sadat explained the watchdog did not have documentary evidence in this regard.
