KABUL (Pajhwok): British Prime Minister David Cameron has congratulated the Afghans on casting votes in millions in the elections last Saturday for the sake of a better future.
A statement issued from the Presidential Palace said the UK leader wrote to President Karzai and hailed the April 5 vote as a success and a huge hope for a better future of Afghanistan.
“It is a moment of pleasure to see millions of Afghan men and women cast votes to elect a future president,” Cameron was quoted as by the statement.
Cameron hoped the elections would realise President Karzai’s perspective of a peaceful transfer of power.
