ASADABAD (Pajhwok): The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Thursday said it had recorded 32 complaints about fraud and other irregularities during last Saturday’s elections in eastern Kunar province.
Regional IEC Chief Murtaza Habibyar told Pajhwok Afghan News five objections were about vote rigging and fraud against presidential candidates, 12 against provincial council candidates and 15 complaints against IEC staff.
He said they had started investigating the complaints, a process that would take at least 10 days to complete.
However, he said only a few complaints had documents in support and promised all the objections with valid evidence would be investigated with impartiality.
