SHARANA (Pajhwok): A six-year-old girl was burnt to death after her house caught fire overnight in southeastern Paktika province, an elder of the family said on Friday.
Abdul Alim, owner of the house, said they were asleep when the fire broke out and engulfed the entire house in no time.
“We managed to save other family members except the minor girl from the raging flames,” he said. After seeing his house had gone up in flames, villagers rushed and extinguished them, he said.
Niamatullah, a resident, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “The destroyed house is near the Agha Sahib mosque. It remains unknown what caused the fire.” He said the fire left the family without food and shelter.
