SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): The National Directorate of Security (NDS) claimed arresting four suspected suicide bombers in northern Jawzjan province, an official said Monday.
The would-be suicide attackers had been arrested from Yakabagh Afghania area on the outskirts of Shiberghan, the provincial capital, the deputy governor told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Eng. Abdul Rahman Mahmoodi said the detained individuals confessed to their crimes and said they were planning to mount attack on the governor office.
It is the second time the NDS arrested suspected bombers and prevented big sabotage acts, he added.
Earlier, an explosive laden-car with posters of presidential contender Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai had been impounded by the NDS in Shiberghan City.
Bashir Hakimi, a resident of the capital city, lauded the role of security organs in maintaining peace and stability in the province.
