ALALABAD (Pajhwok): The governor of eastern Nuristan province complained the central government had neglected his province in terms of development, with the people were facing multiple problems.
Hafiz Abdul Qayyum expressed these views while talking to journalists in Jalalabad City, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province on Tuesday.
The province has neither even a single paved road nor any hospital to provide Nuristanis with health services, he added.
“As a governor, I myself face problems because of the negligence by the central government,” he remarked. He said only one district had road connection with the capital Paron while rests of the roads were closed.
He said the province was facing lack of buildings for educational institutions despite the fact that Nuristan had professional teachers and a large number of students.
He asked the central government to focus its attention on the development of this strategically important province.
